Wer sich für Wanderferien, Wanderreisen oder einen Wanderurlaub ins Coburger Land begibt, um die reizvolle Hügellandschaft zwischen Thüringer Wald im Norden, Haßberge im Westen, dem Oberen Maintal im Süden und dem Frankenwald im Osten zu erkunden, kann lange unterwegs sein. Die Wanderangebote sind umfangreich. Im Coburger Land gibt es beschilderte Wanderwege mit einer Gesamtlänge von insgesamt rund 600 km. In dieses Wanderwegenetz sind auch die Wanderrouten der Gemeinde Ahorn integriert, zu der 964-hohe Schlosshotel Coburger Land gehört. Vom Schlosshotel selbst führen gleich mehrere Wanderwege durch schattige Wälder und sonnige Täler. Für längere Wanderungen durch das Coburger Land sind ein Wanderführer bzw. regionale Wanderkarten empfehlenswert, unter denen der Wanderer die passende Karte für seine Routen auswählen kann.

Das nächstgelegene Schwimmbad vom Schlosshotel aus ist das Hallenbad im Freizeitzentrum im Ortsteil Ahorn-Witzmannsberg (ca. 5 km westlich). Die Schwimmhalle ist relativ klein. Es gibt lediglich ein Becken, das sowohl als Schwimmerbecken als auch als Nichtschwimmerbecken dient. Vormittags wird es häufiger auch als Schulschwimmbecken genutzt, in dem Schwimmunterricht für Schüler und Schwimmkurse angeboten werden. Allerdings bietet das Hallenbad in Witzmannsberg mit Sauna und Solarium auch allen etwas, die sich entspannen und bräunen wollen.

Weitere Schwimmbäder, Hallenbäder und Freibäder, findet man unter anderem in Coburg (ca. 8 km nordöstlich vom Schlosshotel) und in Lichtenfels (ca. 20 km südöstlich vom Schlosshotel). Sowohl in Coburg als auch in Lichtenfels gibt es jeweils ein Hallenbad und ein Freibad. In Rodach (ca. 24 km nordwestlich vom Schlosshotel) gibt es darüber hinaus ein Thermalbewegungsbad.

Nahe gelegene Reiterhöfe und Reitställe sind ein Reitstall in Meeder (ca. 15 km nördlich vom Schlosshotel), ein Reiterhof in Rödental (ca. 17 km nordöstlich vom Schlosshotel), ein Reiterhof in Lichtenfels (ca. 20 km südöstlich vom Schlosshotel) sowie ein Reiterhof in Neustadt (ca. 27 km nordöstlich vom Schlosshotel). Zum Angebot der Reiterhöfe gehören unter anderem geführte Ausritte, Wanderreiten und Distanzreiten. Der Reiterhof in Neustadt und der Reitstall in Meeder sind auch Haltestationen für Wanderreiter.
